Research Hits the Trail Again

Haverhill, MA - climbing Mt. WashingtonActivMed Practices & Research staff members hit the trail again and reached the summit of Mt. Washington on Friday, August 12, 2011.

Through dense fog, mist and 40 degree temperatures Clinical Manager, Sally Coviello, Business Development Manager, Sara Twombly, Financial Manager, Nancy Remy, and Clinical Research Coordinator, Rakesh Nandan trekked 3.5 hours to reach the top of the 6,288 ft. mountain.

ActivMed Practices Staff Climbs to New Heights!

Haverhill, MA - Staff members from ActivMed Practices and Research of Haverhill, MA climbed Mt. Lafayette located near Franconia Ridge in White Mountains, NH on Sunday, July 24th.

LafayetteClinical Research Coordinator, Rakesh Nandan, Regulatory Specialist, Peggy Johnston, and Finance Manager, Nancy Remy hiked three hours to reach the summit of the beautiful New Hampshire Mountain, all the while carrying ActivMed's banner. Once the team reached the top, they snapped this picture to showcase their trek.

A Mt. Washington hike is planned for August 12th. Four ActivMed staff members will attempt to climb the 6,288 ft. mountain in White Mountains, NH.

Our New Hampshire office has moved!!!

Newington, NH - Activmed Practices and Research's new office in Newington, NH will still offer the free-to-the-public health screenings and other services previously offered in our Rochester, NH office. We will continue to work with our Rochester physicians to offer both the Newington and Rochester communities the best possible care.

We look forward to our settling into our new home and becoming an active member of the Seacoast community.

Free health screenings for people who have diabetes or suspect they have diabetes.

Newington, NH - Activmed Practices and Research currently located at 2299 Woodbury Ave, Second Floor in Newington, NH is looking for people who have diabetes and are having trouble managing their diabetes.  Or suspect they have diabetes and need a blood test to confirm it.

Are you having trouble controlling your diabetes?  Are your “sugar” numbers too high?   For a limited time the research office is offering free glucose testing and blood pressure testing.  These appointments are free.

New Research Study Helps Patients Control Their Type 2 Diabetes

Dr. Michael McCartney is pleased to announce he has been selected for a national research study to help patients with Type 2 Diabetes.

Haverhill, MA - Dr. McCartney has just been selected to begin work on a new research study that will help those with Type 2 Diabetes who are not well controlled on their current medications.

Many patients with Type 2 Diabetes take both oral medication as well as insulin every day to help control the effects of low blood sugar. Type 2 Diabetes is diagnosed by the body’s inability to produces enough insulin which results in high blood sugar. Patients with high blood sugar levels can sometimes experience symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, confusion and shakiness.

As part of this research study, Dr. McCartney will be looking for patients over the age of eighteen to participate. He and his staff will be offering free study-related medical care such as lab tests, patient education, exams free glucose meters and strips to those who qualify and participate.  Individuals must have Type 2 Diabetes and take oral medication or insulin for their diabetes and are still not well controlled.
